Clearly I’m a weirdo, seeing as I climb into my houseplants to take self portraits. Truly though, I’ll do just about anything to get the shot! If you’ve ever ventured out on a session with me, you know this…Into a lake, up a tree, laying in the mud. Whatever it takes – I promise to be entertaining.
Raising 3 blonde kiddos…with my handsome guy, on our urban farm, fills my soul. Adventure seekers, we are… camping, hiking, fishing and wandering our way through the PNW and beyond. We reside in North Idaho and frequent our beautiful surroundings, wide eyed and ready to take on new trails.
This is the first photo I remember taking with my mom’s big camera – I was about 9 years old and I vividly remember being so proud! After all, I was capturing something I could always look back on and see my family on this trip to visit my great aunt and feel that pride. Nostalgia at it’s finest…
I took 3 years of black and white photography in high school, (using that same film camera of my mom’s). I developed my own film and made my own prints in a darkroom. The digital age was inevitable and I dove in. I still shoot film (for that same nostalgia), digital (for the convenience) and some video shorts (mostly for myself…trust me it’s better that way – it’s not a strong suit of mine). Capturing this all for others fills me with so much joy and I count my lucky stars that I can call this a job.
